TB-500
research guide

TB-500 is marketed by research suppliers as a synthetic fragment related to thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring actin-regulating peptide studied for roles in cell migration and tissue repair. Available research is dominated by animal and cell-based studies of thymosin beta-4 itself, and it is important to distinguish naturally occurring thymosin beta-4 research from commercial TB-500 products, which are not standardized or verified against the studied molecule.

01 · Start with identity

What is TB-500?

TB-500 as sold commercially is a synthetic peptide marketed as related to thymosin beta-4, not an FDA approved drug. The sources reviewed studied thymosin beta-4 or specific engineered variants such as PEGylated thymosin beta-4, which may differ in structure, purity and pharmacokinetics from a given supplier's TB-500 product.

What the studies reported

01

Rat Achilles tendon healing study

In a controlled rat study, TB-500 (60 microg/kg/day intraperitoneally for four weeks) produced a statistically significant increase in maximum load to failure versus control and significantly lower Bonar and Movin histopathology scores, indicating improved tendon architecture; combining TB-500 with BPC-157 did not add further benefit over TB-500 alone [1].

02

Cardiac repair in engineered variant

A 2026 study describes a PEGylated, thiol-site-specific thymosin beta-4 prodrug tested in vivo for myocardial infarction in animal models, illustrating ongoing preclinical engineering of the thymosin beta-4 pathway rather than evidence for the unmodified peptide as sold [2].

03

Gerontology review context

A review of therapeutic peptides in aging research references thymosin beta-4 among peptides studied for regenerative mechanisms, again drawing on preclinical and mechanistic literature rather than completed human trials [3].

03 · Numbers in context

What does dosing evidence actually support?

The rat Achilles tendon study administered TB-500 (described as synthetic thymosin beta-4) intraperitoneally at 60 micrograms per kilogram per day for four weeks in a controlled animal experiment. No validated human dosing protocol was identified in the sources reviewed, and the identity gap between studied thymosin beta-4 variants and commercial TB-500 products further limits any direct translation to a human use case.

A study dose is not a personal dose. Population, route, formulation and supervision are part of the result. Online community schedules are not treated here as established clinical protocols.

04 · Safety and limits

What not to overlook

  • Commercial TB-500 has not been verified in the sources reviewed as structurally identical to the thymosin beta-4 studied in cited research
  • No completed human clinical trial for TB-500 was identified in the sources reviewed
  • Not an FDA approved drug
  • Animal model doses do not establish a human protocol

05 · Product distinctions

Names are not interchangeable

Reign Peptide lists TB-500 (labeled Thymosin Beta-4) as a lyophilized powder (10mg/vial) and as a nasal spray solution, both described by the supplier as greater than or equal to 99% purity by third-party HPLC and for in-vitro research use only. This supplier labeling does not equate to a pharmaceutical formulation or clinical-grade product.

06 · Handling and storage

Follow validated product instructions

A single water volume, refrigerator temperature or expiry window cannot be assumed for every compound and formulation. Use the exact manufacturer documentation and a validated laboratory procedure. If stability, solvent compatibility or microbiological quality is not documented, those properties remain unverified.

Refrigeration, clear appearance and bacteriostatic water do not make an unverified research product suitable for injection. This guide does not provide a mixing or administration procedure.

The existing concentration calculator checks arithmetic only. It cannot choose a safe dose or establish compatibility, sterility or shelf life.

Questions still worth asking

What remains unresolved?

  • How closely does commercially sold TB-500 match the sequence and purity of thymosin beta-4 used in published animal studies?
  • Would the tendon healing effects reported in rats be reproduced in a controlled human musculoskeletal trial?
