A study examined Semax's effect on spontaneous intracellular calcium fluctuations in rat hippocampal and cerebellar brain slices, reporting that Semax application increased the frequency of spontaneous calcium concentration changes in pyramidal neurons. [1]

The same functional connectomic study covering Selank also examined Semax's effect on whole-brain resting-state functional connectivity in 52 healthy participants, focused on regions involved in anxiety regulation and executive function. [2]

Research on Semax and the related derivative ACTH(6-9)PGP in rats found effects on gene expression patterns in the hippocampus and antistress behavioral effects following acute restraint stress, at a described animal dose of 100 micrograms per kilogram. [3]

What does dosing evidence actually support?
The rodent gene-expression study used a dose of 100 micrograms per kilogram administered to rats before an acute stress procedure, a figure that describes that experiment's design, not a human protocol. The human functional connectivity study did not report a per-participant therapeutic dosing regimen in the abstract reviewed; it examined brain imaging changes rather than testing a treatment protocol. No validated human clinical dosing trial for Semax was located in the sources reviewed.
A study dose is not a personal dose. Population, route, formulation and supervision are part of the result. Online community schedules are not treated here as established clinical protocols.

Names are not interchangeable
Sold as a lyophilized synthetic peptide powder in single-compound vials and in combination nasal spray products with Selank. Any historical Russian pharmaceutical nasal spray formulation of Semax is a separate, specific drug product from unapproved research-labeled material, and equivalence between them has not been verified here.
